Instant Party Just Add Sweetz

Back in January, a friend and colleague of mine approached me with a concept for the album cover of her latest mix. DJ Sweetz (aka Mindy Cooper) has been bringing the party to Edmonton's nightlife for years, specializing in Mashups, Breaks and Top 40. I've had the pleasure of witnessing her DJ at various venues around Edmonton, including the Bounce Birthday Bash at Edmonton Event Centre as well as a SUPER fun wedding that I photographed last summer, and she's always high energy. She's also the Friday night Mixshow DJ on Edmonton's Virgin 104.9 from 10pm to 1am.

The concept revolves around her stage name: DJ Sweetz. The new mix is called Instant Party Just Add Sweetz, so the idea was to picture a lame party with Mindy in the foreground "spiking the punch" with a bag of sugar. She had a graphic designer in mind already, so I just had to make the photographs happen. The end result is AWESOME!
