Old Milwaukee Pinup Girl

I recently took a big career leap and got hooked up with some commercial work for a local pub in Edmonton, The Black Dog Freehouse. If you like beer and pinup girls as much as I do, you're probably aware of the recently re-released Old Milwaukee cans with 1940s style Elvgren-esque pinups on them.

The general manager and the rep that supplies the Black Dog with Old Milwaukee wanted to create a Black Dog specific pinup girl poster in the same style, to replace an outdated one in the bar. I was brought on board to find a local pinup girl, a local black dog, and to shoot and design the poster!

I know local actress/dancer/model Keltie Squires through some mutual friends, and when I showed our team some photos of her they decided she was perfect for the job. Local boutique Rowena was kind enough to lend us a selection of clothing for the shoot, and my friend Jessie lent us her beautiful dog Frankie.

Check out the life sized poster at the Black Dog (10425 Whyte Avenue), in the stairwell leading down to the UnderDog!
